How Did the “Big Bang Theory” Become A “Thing”?

From Issue: Volume 36 #5 – May

Question:

Dear Digger Doug. What made the Big Bang theory a thing?

Answer:

Thank you for the excellent question. I have often wondered how the “Big Bang Theory” became a “thing” myself. It has always confused me that so many people believe in it, even when real science is against it. In 2004, about 450 researchers and scientists signed a letter titled “Bucking the Big Bang,” where they wrote about all the scientific problems with it. These people were not trying to prove the biblical story of Creation, they were simply pointing out the scientific problems with the Big Bang. Since 2004, even more scientific problems concerning the Big Bang Theory have been pointed out. The main reason I believe it has become a “thing” is because many people believe that if there was a Big Bang, there would be no need for God. The fact is, that is not correct either. Even if there was a Big Bang, it could not explain the origin of things such as morals, love, and the human soul. The biblical story of Creation provides the only complete answer for the creation of all that we see and experience in this world. “In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth” (Genesis 1:1).
